“Before I got to the Nile, I did not realize it was a home. I was thinking it was an institution, like a hospital. The staff was friendly and not judging of my situation as most other programs I experienced the staff was cold and judging. I felt like there was a purpose to this program, a goal. Others I have been in, I always felt like a house plant and they were not trying to guide me in the right direction. At the Nile the staff goes out of their way to help you in every area of your life. They help you get on your feet and make sure you are prepared before entering the ‘real world’. Being at the Nile I have established more than just friends, but another family who loves me.
